Description from the seller
"Suspended Vines" is an abstract and vibrant figurative work, entirely handcrafted by the Corsican artist Leonello. The painting is a captivating representation of plant life that defies gravity and chromatic reality, contrasting the ethereal serenity of the background with the almost fluorescent energy of the floral elements.
The work was executed on a stretched canvas and demonstrates meticulous mastery in the use of color and texture.
The background was painted with professional acrylic and fades from a light blue at the bottom to a deep blue at the top. This chromatic gradation gives a sense of depth and an underwater or atmospheric environment.
The long inflorescences resembling wisteria are the main structural and chromatic element. They were modeled in relief with plaster before and during painting. On this three-dimensional base, acrylic in neon tones (pink, yellow, lime green, sky blue) was applied, giving them a gummy, tactile, and vibrant appearance. This use of plaster highlights their sculptural nature on the canvas.
Elongated leaves, painted in a terracotta red and bright gold, along with thin white branches, intertwine among the inflorescences. These details add a sense of movement and a visual narrative to the composition.
The painting is finished with a professional glossy varnish. The finish enhances the brightness of the acrylic colors and, most importantly, illuminates the plaster reliefs, giving the impression that the 'suspended screws' are wet or backlit.
"Vite Sospese" captures attention with its dynamism and joyful explosion of color. The title evokes the idea of growth or existence in a state of waiting or lightness. Leonello has created a work that balances the serenity of the background with the exuberance of the flora, celebrating vitality in a composition rich in textural and chromatic contrasts.
