Flavia Delgado, CEREZAS XL (NO RESERVE), acrylic painting, original edition, 70 × 100 cm, year 2025, signed by hand, Spain, still life with cherries.
Description from the seller
Vibrant and expressive painting measuring 70 x 100 cm by artist Flavia Delgado. This painting depicts a white plate with cobalt blue edges and the inscription 'PARIS' on both sides, acting as a small domestic altar for a dozen cherries, bright and red as freshly polished jewels. The scene unfolds on a wrinkled blue cloth, whose almost gestural weave recalls the agile stroke of a sketch, adding dynamism to a composition that, however, conveys stillness and restraint.
The cherries, arranged without rigidity, keep their stems intertwined as if they were just placed there effortlessly. There is no forced symmetry, only the natural balance of freshness, simplicity, and everyday life. The rounded shapes of the fruit contrast with the somewhat twisted geometry of the tablecloth, creating a visual play between the organic and the structured.
The neutral, bare background invites the viewer to focus on the essential: the intense red color that jumps out at the viewer as a vital gesture, a celebration of matter. There is something nostalgic in the word 'PARIS' written on the crockery, as if this still life concealed a personal story, a memory, or a desire encapsulated in the act of serving fruit.
"Cherries" is a tribute to simplicity. To what is offered without any adornment other than its presence. A scene that seems to say: beauty, sometimes, lies in a bowl full of fruit on a wrinkled cloth.
