Description

This work presents the figure of an angel stripped of its ideal.
The body, in a posture of dejection, indicates the transition between perfection and human fragility.
The wings, blackened and heavy, symbolize the contradiction of the elevated when faced with matter: they are remnants of a power that no longer sustains.
The blue of the garment introduces a tension between the sacred and the worldly, between the purity of the symbol and the exposure of the body.
The purple background, almost ethereal, accentuates the ambiguity of the space: it is neither sky nor earth, but a threshold where the being contemplates its own loss.
The work teaches, more than it narrates, the paradox of the spirit that wishes to ascend, but at the same time recognizes the beauty of its fall.
