Printed in Frankfurt am Main, by the publisher N. Basse, in the year 1582. With woodcut printer's mark, coat of arms woodcut, and 12 monthly woodcuts.
Bound in a beautiful blind-embossed pigskin leather binding of the period, with wooden boards; dusty, stained, rubbed, and bumped, spine dyed, clasps removed.
Collation: 5 sheets, 1 blank sheet, 190 numbered sheets, 15 sheets register, 1 blank sheet; 16 sheets, 536 pages, 10 sheets
I. VD 16, H 4724. - II. VD16, S 1900. - Rare chronicle of the jurist Abraham Saur, who served at the princely Hessian court court in Marburg. The charming monthly woodcuts are framed with borders.
CONDITION: Good and beautiful specimen with signs of use. Overall browned and occasionally stained, slightly water-stained at the edges, a few pages with margin tears, one page with a glued tear, and the last page with small holes, very rarely small worm traces. The rear blank endpaper is fragmentary. With gift and ownership marks on the flyleaf and free endpaper dated 1662, the rear flyleaf with a purchase note dated 1585.
