Saint Anthony is shown in his Franciscan habit, gently supporting the Christ Child seated on an open book, with white lilies as a traditional attribute. The warm brown palette, subtle tonal transitions, and tender expressions are characteristic of early 18th-century Venetian painting.

Painted in oil on a wooden panel, the work has a beautiful devotional presence. It is presented in a later gilt frame with deep red velvet, which complements the subject well.
