In this singular work, Laurent Chimento transforms an intimate interior into a mysterious threshold opening onto the vastness. A large arch carved into the rock reveals the sea, whose waves come to lap at a floor paved with warm colors, as if two worlds — the domestic refuge and the untamable nature — were trying to meet. On the left, an alcove bathed in amber light brings an almost sacred warmth, while a red armchair echoes this discreet human presence. On the right, an abandoned sofa seems to observe the horizon, like a silent witness to this unlikely encounter.
The composition plays on contrasts: the softness of the furniture and interior lights clashes with the power of the ocean, creating a surreal and poetic atmosphere. The textured surfaces and subtle shades of blue and ochre enhance the impression of a suspended dream, as if the domestic space is crumbling to make way for a secret passage to infinity.
A painting where imagination becomes a habitable place, and where every detail invites you to cross the threshold and lose yourself in the call of the open sea.
Laurent Chimento is a professional painter born in 1974 in Manosque, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
He explores in his painting the territories of dreams and memory. His suspended villages, imaginary architectures, and lunar lights convey a quest for harmony between the real and the imaginary.
Through a vibrant palette where deep blues, golds, and incandescent reds converse, he creates interior landscapes imbued with poetry and mystery.
His style, which could be described as poetic expressionism, blends the spontaneity of gesture with a rigorous construction of volumes. Each work thus becomes a symbolic place, a refuge where light tells the soul of things.
Collectors from over 35 countries have acquired works by Laurent Chimento (USA, Mexico, Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, Lebanon, Spain, Italy, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Sweden, etc.).
Careful packaging and fast shipping with tracking and insurance for France and internationally.
