2020 Château Vieux Manoir - Bordeaux - 4 Magnums (1.5L)

Château Vieux Manoir is a Bordeaux wine produced on an estate near Targon, about 35 km southeast of Bordeaux. The vineyards are situated on clay and limestone/gravel soils. The grape cuvée is typical: Merlot with additions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. On the palate, the wine is known for aromas of dark/black fruit — think cassis, blackcurrant, blackberry — sometimes with notes of plum, light spice, and sometimes some oak/vanilla depending on the vintage. In the mouth usually smooth, fruity, well structured, with pleasant tannins and often a reasonable body. Serving temperature around 17-18 °C, the wine goes well with red meat, grilled meat, game or cheese. A "magnum" is a 1.5-liter bottle—twice as large as the standard 0.75-liter bottle. This can be useful for sharing or for storing for a longer period.
