Nachtelijk Winterlandschap is an oil painting from the Netherlands, dating to the 1960s (period 1960-1970), sold with its frame.
Description from the seller
A particularly beautiful oil painting on canvas, painted by Hendrik IJkelenstam in 1966. A fine impressionistic depiction of a farmstead in a nocturnal winter landscape. Signed, dated, and titled by the artist on both the front (lower left) and on the stretcher frame. The painting (the canvas) is in good condition and is housed in the original frame.

Hendrikus IJkelenstam was a Dutch painter, draftsman, graphic artist, and sculptor.
Opleiding: Ijkelenstam attended training at the State School for Applied Arts in Amsterdam from 1913 to 1916. He also took an evening course at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten from 1915 to 1916, and from 1916 to 1920, he completed a full program there.
After completing his art education, IJkelenstam settled in Amsterdam in 1925. He created graphic works and oil paintings of cityscapes, still lifes, and portraits in a naturalistic style, gaining particular fame for his portraits and atmospheric city views of Amsterdam. In 1929, IJkelenstam took a trip abroad to France, which he visited regularly thereafter. He also traveled twice to Madrid, Toledo, and surrounding areas. Florence, Rome, and other Italian cities were visited by him in 1955, 1958, and 1959. IJkelenstam was a member of several artists' associations, including Arti et Amicitiae and De Onafhankelijken, and from 1951, he taught drawing at the Municipal Secondary School for Girls in Amsterdam.
IJkelenstam received multiple awards; he was awarded the St. Luke Award twice, in 1925 and 1928. In 1919, he received the Willink van Collen Prize from Arti et Amicitiae.
