Original drawing by Marten Toonder Studio's for Heer Bommel and the Hollebosserknol, dating from the late 1940s, sized 11.5 x 16 cm, in excellent condition, one item.
Description from the seller
Original drawings by Marten Toonder have always been extremely rare, and that can and will never change. In 2010, the physical part of Toonder's estate (the original drawings, letters, and such) that Marten Toonder himself created was permanently incorporated into the collection of the Literary Museum Leiden and has since become the property of the Dutch state. In November 2018, the Marten Toonder Studios archive was donated to the Literature Museum in The Hague and the Eye Film Museum in Amsterdam. See the last photo. The chance of original drawings ever coming onto the market has therefore become very slim.
The offering here now is a beautiful drawing that was made for the famous story.
Heer Bommel and the Hollebosserknol appeared in Ons Vrije Nederland, Tom Poes Weekblad, and PUM PUM in the late 1940s. It features a splendid drawing including, among others, Heer Bommel, Bul Super, and Hiep Hieper. On the back are stamps from Marten Toonder Studio's. The drawing is made on thin paper, possibly due to the post-war paper shortage. Offering this beautiful drawing (11.5 x 16 cm) presents a unique opportunity to acquire a very fine piece from Marten Toonder Studio's.
This beautiful drawing is well packaged and sent registered to the new owner.
