Beautiful illustrated edition of the novel by Georges Duhamel, adorned with 31 black lithographs by Berthold-Mahn (1881-1975). Limited edition of 540 copies, this one on Montgolfier vellum, numbered 525.

Bound in an elegant binding signed by Canape & Corriez, executed in dark blue half-morocco with corner decorations, spine with gold tooling and the title in gilt letters. Gilt head. First cover preserved.

In very good condition despite slightly rubbed edges and headbands. Interior fresh and clean, free of foxing.

Midnight Confession is the first volume — of a series of five — written in 1920 by Georges Duhamel in the cycle Life and Adventures of Salavin. In 1950, this novel was included in the list of the Grand Prize for the Best Novels of the Half-Century (Wikipedia).
