About the Popchips

POPCHIPS is an artistic concept I created to capture 'miniature fragments' of my universe. Each POPCHIP is a unique, hand-painted artwork on a small canvas, blending my double-stencil technique with an instinctive and expressive background.

This collection was also designed with a modular spirit: every POPCHIP can stand alone as an artwork, but several pieces can be combined to form a larger visual ensemble — like a personal mosaic. Collectors can build their own composition based on what resonates with them: mountains, love, mythology, animals, or pop culture.

Each POPCHIP remains an original artwork, never a print, offering an accessible entry point into my artistic world while maintaining the same craftsmanship and authenticity as my larger pieces.




ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This POPCHIP reinterprets Michelangelo’s David, focusing on the sculpture’s iconic tension and expressive strength. Through sharp stencil contours and warm tones of orange and amber, I aimed to capture the energy of the moment before action — that decisive instant when David stands poised, aware, and unshaken.
The fiery background contrasts with the marble-inspired whites, giving the classical figure a contemporary, street-art dynamism.
In this miniature format, the monumental becomes intimate: a fragment of Renaissance power distilled into the POPCHIPS universe.




About the artist

I am Alexandre Petrus, a French stencil artist blending instinct and precision. I handcraft all my stencils and paint original artworks that merge pop culture, nature, mythology, and emotion. I create murals across France, perform live paintings for weddings and corporate events, and develop series of unique canvases using my signature double-cut stencil technique.

All my artworks are originals: I never produce prints or editions. Even when I reuse a stencil, each painting has a different background, making every piece absolutely unique.
