Description from the seller
Elegant hexagonal box in the Napoléon III style, dating from the second half of the 19th century (around 1860/1880).
The box is made of silver-plated material, finely pierced with vegetal scrollwork, revealing a red textile background. The lid is decorated with a relief putto (winged angel), an emblematic motif of the decorative taste of the Second Empire.
The interior is entirely upholstered in red velvet, typical of jewelry boxes of that era. The whole rests on four small pyramid-shaped feet, ensuring good stability.
The work exhibits a beautiful decorative quality, characteristic of French productions from the Napoléon III period.
The box features an antique patina with natural tarnish of the silvering, consistent with its age, without major deterioration. See the photos, as they are part of the description.
The interior is clean and well preserved.
Refined decorative object, ideal as a jewelry box.
