Description from the seller
Original Maggi poster – 'Potages Maggi' – signed by Emmanuel Gaillard – authentic large-sized cardboard (46.5 × 66.5 cm)
Rare and beautiful authentic and original 'Potages Maggi' advertising poster, signed by the artist EMM. GAILLARD (Emmanuel Gaillard), one of the leading French illustrators active in Maggi's communication between the 1930s and 1940s.
The work is printed on rigid cardboard, not the usual paper poster, with an exceptionally large format for this type of support: 46.5 × 66.5 cm, making it particularly spectacular.
The graphic is iconic: a girl in a white apron striking a theatrical pose in front of a background with vertical red-ochre stripes, with her shadow projected on the backdrop – a style typical of Gaillard and the pre-war period. The typography 'POTAGES MAGGI' in large format on a dark magenta background is a distinctive element of Maggi's communication of that era.
The input is a dash character, which does not require translation.
