Description from the seller
A very rare, beautiful, and interesting book... "The Private Life Of The Old Northmen," published by Chapman in 1868. The book is a detailed exploration of the everyday life and customs of the Northmen, a group of people who lived in Scandinavia during the Viking Age. Keyser's book covers a wide range of topics related to the Northmen, including their social structure, religious beliefs, daily routines, and cultural practices. He draws on a variety of sources, including Norse sagas, archaeological evidence, and historical records, to paint a vivid picture of what life was like for these ancient people. Throughout the book, Keyser provides fascinating insights into the Northmen's way of life, such as their love of storytelling, their complex social hierarchy, and their deep connection to the natural world. He also explores their religious beliefs, including their worship of the Norse gods and the role of magic and sorcery in their culture.
Book in good condition. Externally original cloth with light wear around edges and corners, shelfwear, stains on boards. Inside light stains but overall clean and complete. Ex library book with only signs: numbers on spine, spine reinforced with tape, stamps at beginning, sticker front pastedown.
