Louis Dourand - Eternal Icons, Mickey Mouse

The work transforms a visual culture icon into a figure suspended between reality and imagination. Through a dotted and luminous language, the subject emerges from the darkness like a constellation, evoking the idea of a timeless symbol, at the border between the earthly and the cosmic.
The choice to reduce the form to glimmers and particles creates an effect of rarefaction that prompts the viewer to reflect on the role of images in the collective imagination: from simple figures of consumption, they become universal symbols, loaded with memory and suggestions.
A dialogue is born between pop and transcendence, where the lightness of the icon merges with the depth of myth, transforming it into a luminous presence, familiar yet distant, almost celestial.


This new work arises from the creativity of the French artist Louis Dourand, known for having collaborated in the past with Santicri, in an artistic dialogue that has managed to blend different visual languages into a shared expressive vision. Santicri – with whom Louis Dourand has collaborated on several occasions – is one of the most prominent contemporary artists on the international scene.
He exhibited his works in prestigious venues such as Palazzo Grillo in Genoa in 2022 and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York in 2023.
In 2024, he was recognized among the Best-Selling Artists by Artmayeur and entered the top 3 of the most searched artists on Catawiki, alongside names like Kaws and Banksy.
