This is a bronze lion engraved with the name of Shōun 照雲.
The lion's expression is very powerful, and it looks as if it is crouching on guard against something, but it also has a somewhat charming expression.

Since ancient times, lions have been cherished as symbols of authority and warding off evil, while the peony, known as the "king of flowers," represents wealth and prosperity.
This is an auspicious piece.

It features a stately bronze and intricate carving, showcasing Shoun's outstanding metal casting techniques.

It is perfect for entryways, alcoves, Japanese-style room interiors, store displays, and more.

It is 50-100 years old, antique feel to it. There are some scratches and scuffs on the whole, but I think it is in relatively good condition.
