Biography of Enrique Breccia
Illustrator Enrique Breccia was born in Buenos Aires on October 26, 1945. Son of Alberto Breccia, considered one of the masters of Argentine and world comics, he debuted in 1968 drawing 'La Vida del Che', a biography of Ernesto “Che” Guevara written by Héctor Germán Oesterheld. In 1972, he began collaborating with the English publisher Fleetway, drawing 'Spy 13' under a pseudonym, and later a series of war stories published in 'Linus', for which he also wrote the scripts.
Since 1976, he began working on stories by Carlos Trillo, an author with whom he created 'El Buen Dios', 'Alvar Mayor' (1977-1983), 'Robin delle stelle' (1978), and 'Marco Mono'. In 1983, he drew 'Ibáñez', written by Robin Wood, and in 1984, he produced as a full author 'The Dream Collector' and 'The Hunter of Time'.
After working on comic adaptations of many literary classics, in 2000 he began his collaboration with Marvel and DC Comics. For the latter publisher, he became the main artist of 'Swamp Thing' in 2005, drawing 22 issues plus the covers.
According to Sergio Bonelli Editore, they produced the 2016 'Texone' titled 'Capitan Jack', written by Tito Faraci, along with some covers for Dylan Dog, Napoleone, and Adam Wild.
