Luigi Filograno's original 2022 mixed‑technique artwork WHY DOES LOVE DISSOLVE ME ? on 80 × 85.5 cm birch plywood, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, produced in Italy and weighing 9 kg.
Description from the seller
The birch plywood on which the subject was drawn is 2 cm thick. On the back there is a wooden strip with a hanger. Alternatively, there are also two symmetrical holes to distribute the weight of the painting of approximately 9 kg. The edges and corners are perfect and the work shows no damage, cuts or dents. The technique used is a mixed one, with pastel, marker, and printing ink. Any color discrepancies in the photographs are due to different exposure to light or the characteristics of the camera. The work is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity. It is packaged by protecting the front and sides with a sheet of thick cardboard, then with bubble wrap and finally in another sealed cardboard container. Shipments outside the EU may take longer and not immediately quantifiable, due to the bureaucratic procedures for the necessary certification. This work depicts a young dancer dancing in the wake of rediscovered but ever-elusive love. He seeks balance, but agonizing love dissolves his figure. It is our constant search for equilibrium amidst the siege of existential turmoil. This work is part of a research project called "balances and imbalances," available on the website www.luigifilograno.it, where the various works are organized by research field, two- or three-dimensional typology, and year. His numerous significant participations in solo and group exhibitions are listed, including the 2011 Venice Biennale (Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Turin - Sala Nervi - Italian Pavilion and Palazzo Ca' Zanardi in Venice) and the 2018 Copenhagen Contemporary Art Fair (Art Nordic), receiving awards such as the 2011 Basi Prize. His works are featured in museums such as the Allotropya Museum (Delphi, Greece) and Boston. FiloGrano lives and works near Milan, Italy.
