The work tells the story of Lawrence Newman, an anti-Semite whose life changes when he wears glasses. "Newman spent his life discriminating against minorities, but after wearing glasses that alter his physical appearance, he is mistaken for a Jew. His friends, who once respected him, now treat him with hostility, as he becomes the target of discrimination that he once reserved for others with discernment."
