Description from the seller
Original edition published specially in 120 copies and adorned with three original etchings by Robert Bonfils.
This one, printed on Auvergne laid paper with a shape, bears number 38.
Paperback volume, flap cover, printed in black and green. With matching cardboard slipcase and case in jute fabric. Good copy, with the cover slightly browned and torn at the spine for 5cm. The paper is slightly yellowed, without foxing, and the etching plates are slightly warped.
Robert Bonfils, born on October 15, 1886, in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, and died in the 7th arrondissement of Paris on October 4, 1971, was a French illustrator, painter, engraver (woodcut and etching), lithographer, and bookbinder in the Art Deco style. His 1925 poster announcing the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts remains perceived as the symbolic image of the scope of the Art Deco movement as an artistic phenomenon.
Jules Beucler, also known as André Beucler, born in Saint Petersburg on February 23, 1898, and died in Nice on February 26, 1985, was a writer, journalist, screenwriter, filmmaker, radio producer, essayist, translator, as well as a French historian, art critic, and resistance fighter.
