Batch 2 of MacNair's Lum Reek 10 Year Old blended malt is a combination of Speyside and Islay single malts, laid to rest in a mix of Spanish sherry casks, wine barriques and virgin oak casks. Aromas of ginger, vanilla, grilled honeycomb, campfire smoke and treacle fill the nose, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, burnt orange peel, butterscotch, smoked spices, roasted coffee beans and fresh ginger throughout the palate and lingering on the finish.

‘Sinteis’ (pronounced sin-teesh), meaning synthesis in Scottish Gaelic, captures the distillery's creative approach to cask maturation, uniting two bold yet complementary wood types to craft a truly distinctive expression.
This release brings together single malt whisky matured in Oloroso Sherry casks with spirit drawn from rare Scottish virgin oak barrels, resulting in a harmonious fusion of dark chocolate, grated nutmeg, and citrus fruits.
Bottled as part of the Sinteis Series, this expression is presented at cask strength—58.2% ABV—with natural colour and non-chill filtration, allowing the whisky’s full character to shine through.
COLOUR: Burnished Mahogany

NOSE: Mocha, grilled honeycomb, and sun-dried red berries, layered with cinnamon butter, toasted lemon peel, and muscovado sugar.

TASTE: Heather honey, citrus, and warmed baking spices lead into notes of gingersnaps and poached orchard fruits, finishing with mocha and vanilla buttercream.
