Pierpaolo Curti
A Tribute to Archimede - Diptych
Formella 16, 2015
Formella 81, 2015
Mixed technique_ Drawing on an engraved and waxed wooden board.
Titled, signed and stamped by the artist on the reverse.
Size: 30 x 30 cm each board.
Exhibitions: "Italia Docet. Laboratorium" Collateral Exhibition at the 56th Venice Biennale, Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto, Venice, 2015
The artist Pierpaolo Curti was born in Lodi (Italy) 1972, where he lives and works.
These artworks were part of an installation comprising 14 pieces painted by Curti using a mixed technique, in which the inventions by Archimedes and the card text are alternated, around which the story of the 'Palimpsest' by Archimedes develops. Conceptually revisited, it is presented in a series of letters—pages corrected with whitebait.
In the pictures you will see the photos of the installation at the exhibition at the Collateral Exhibition at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015.
Pierpaolo Curti's language is essential, terse, and without frills. We also find traces from art history, evocations of Giotto, Masaccio, Leonardo da Vinci, Piero della Francesca, an artist Curti has looked up to since the beginning of his research.
ATTENTION: please note that computer or telephone monitors may cause variations in how colors are represented in the photos.
Professional packaging, sent by express courier.
