A small old sled of Ronald Smit, made of wrought iron and wood, dating from 1900–1970, in good condition with signs of aging, measuring 60 cm long, 32 cm wide and 27 cm high and weighing 3 kg.
Description from the seller
Dear bidders,
this is the prettiest real-life sled I’ve ever seen, and same may be the case for some of you. Just look at the photos: the elegant violin shape of the seat, the color and structure of the wood, the beautifully arched wrought iron runners...
The sled is quite small, with a total length of 60 cm. It is made of wrought iron and wood, painted red on the metal parts and the side of the wooden platform. Except for the bottom of the runners, the paint is well preserved. The wooden platform is lacquered and in a very good condition as well. It has a nice patina, very nice warm color, the wooden structure is visible and it has some small traces of use. The old rope is still present.
The sled is still completely solid, nothing is wobbly.
Also interesting, the sled is signed on the back: apparently it belonged to a certain Ronald Smit. I like to imagine he was a happy boy who, long time ago, had a lot of fun with this sled.
Now the sled is looking for the next owner. It is highly decorative, and could spend its future with being pretty. But it is also still completely usable, and it could very well slide around and bring joy to another child. Or, maybe it can even find a next Ronald Smit ;)
Dimensions in cm:
- total length 60
- seat length 51
- total width 32
- seat width 27
- height 27
Only shipping to the EU, pick-up possible.
