In this work, I aimed to capture the idea of an 'inner kingdom'. Not a political kingdom, nor a kingdom of power, but that intimate territory where each of us keeps our wildest and most vulnerable identity. The crown is not just a symbol of authority: it is a metaphor for what makes us unique, for what we defend even when no one is watching.

I divided the face into planes and intense colors because that is how I perceive the construction of the self: fragmented, multiple, vibrant, always in motion. The exaggerated, open, almost restless eye represents that need to look beyond the obvious, to read the world with a sensitivity that sometimes hurts and sometimes illuminates.

The colors: electric blue, fuchsia, deep yellow, are emotional energies. They are states of mind that coexist within us without asking for permission. While I was painting, I felt that this figure was claiming its space, its identity, its shine. It was a character that did not want to be explained, but felt.
