VITYRA's original mixed-media painting 寂野 - No Reserve, 2025, 100 x 140 cm on canvas, hand-signed on the reverse, with a Certificate of Authenticity, shipped rolled in a protective tube from Austria; contemporary, direct from the artist.
Description from the seller
寂野
Pigment on canvas
100 cm x 140 cm (39 inches x 55 inches)
寂野 (Jakuno) - Japanese for lonely field - is a large, meditative abstract painting that hovers between landscape and pure atmosphere. A deep, almost black band anchors the lower edge of the canvas, above which muted green-brown tones dissolve into a soft, distant haze. The suggestion of a low horizon and blurred forms evokes a field seen through mist, or a memory of a place slowly fading.
The work is built with many thin washes of phthalo green, cobalt green and raw umber pigments, allowing the colours to sink into the weave of the canvas. Subtle overlaps, tonal shifts and faint irregularities remain visible on the surface. These small imperfections, together with the quiet gradation of value, reflect a wabi-sabi sensibility: an appreciation of patina, emptiness and the calm beauty of things that feel weathered and transient.
From a distance, the painting reads as a serene, nearly monochrome landscape; viewed up close, it reveals fine textures, soft edges and delicate variations in colour. The composition is intentionally understated and open, inviting slow looking and contemplation rather than narrative.
This original painting by VITYRA is hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. VITYRA is represented by S-Gallery, a well-known gallery for Viennese boundary-pushing contemporary artists. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube - an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 100 x 140 cm (39 x 55 inches), with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching. Frame placement is lightly marked on the back to assist precise mounting.
