Citizen AutoDater equipped with the 520 automatic movement, produced during a period when Japanese watchmaking entered its rapid development in the 1960s.
In this era, Citizen focused on practical high-grade mechanical watches, refining automatic technology and expanding their PARA WATER series.
The AutoDater line was positioned as a dress watch combining refinement with everyday functionality, offering day and date display within a clean and well-balanced design.
This example features a silver sunburst dial with applied indices, a framed day window, and a magnified date display — characteristic details found in Citizen’s mid-60s dress watches.
The caseback is engraved PARA WATER STAR with reference 3101-C, a specification used for Citizen’s water-protected dress models of the period.
Inside is Citizen’s 520 automatic movement, a 21-jewel caliber known for its practical construction and smooth winding system.
