This is a black-and-white woodblock print created by an unidentified Japanese artist in the 1970s, belonging to their rural landscape series. The composition focuses on the winter snowscape of the Kōchi Ancient Battlefield site in Ōita Prefecture, Japan: snow-covered terraced ridges stretch layer upon layer, with distant mountains and villages hidden behind sparse forests. The texture of snow and outlines of villages are depicted through concise, powerful black-and-white lines, presenting both the serene vastness of the winter countryside and the profound weight of historical relics. An artist’s seal is impressed at the lower left of the work, and the theme—Ōita no Kuni Kōchi Kosenjō to Kinenhi (大分国河内古戦場と記念碑)—is annotated in pencil on the lower back of the paper.
This artwork is set in a metal aluminum frame with a glass front. The frame shows signs of wear from use; due to age, the paper has developed slight oxidation and yellowing. The overall condition is good.
- The picture is part of the description. The color of the item may be slightly different from the picture (due to camera and screen settings).
- The successful bidder will be responsible for any customs duties and taxes (if applicable).
- This item will be mailed by the postal service of Taiwan in the form of airmail with insurance attached.
