Marc is a Spanish motorcycle racing rider. He has won nine World Championship titles in three categories: 125cc (2010), Moto2 (2012), and seven times in MotoGP (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025). He was also runner-up in Moto2 in 2011 and third in MotoGP in 2015 and 2024. Between 2013 and 2023, he raced for the Repsol Honda team, with which he accumulated 59 wins and 101 podiums in 169 Grands Prix, making him the most decorated rider of the brand. In 2024, he competed with Gresini Racing, alongside his brother Álex Márquez. Starting in 2025, he is part of the official Ducati team, with a contract until the 2026 season.

In his first season in the 'premier category,' he won the 2013 MotoGP World Championship at 20 years and 266 days old, becoming the youngest rider to win a top-category championship in this sport, surpassing Freddie Spencer's record. He is also the youngest rider in history to be bi, tri, tetra, penta, and hexa champion of the premier motorcycle racing category. He is the third rider with the most wins in the history of the Motorcycle World Championship with 99, in MotoGP he is the second rider with the most wins: 73 Grand Prix victories excluding sprint races, the second rider with the most podiums: 126, the rider with the most poles: 74, the second rider with the most fastest laps: 72, the rider with the most grand chelems: 11, and he is the rider with the most wins in a season, having won 13 out of 18 races in 2014, which corresponds to 72.22%, among other records. He is one of four riders to win three world championships in three different categories, after Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, and Valentino Rossi. Along with Casey Stoner, he is the second rider to debut in the official Ducati team with a victory in the first race.

He has a brother three years younger, Álex Márquez (born 1996), who also competes in the MotoGP category and has won two World Motorcycle Racing Championships. Marc and Álex are the only brothers to have achieved a World Motorcycle Racing Championship and, additionally, in the same season, in 2014 and 2019, along with being the first brothers to win a Grand Prix on the same day (June 15, 2014, at the Catalonia Grand Prix, at the Montmeló circuit, Spain). In the premier class, they were the first brothers to finish first and second in history (March 2, 2025, at the Thailand Grand Prix), the only brothers to be champion and runner-up, to win a Grand Prix, lead the world championship, and the most frequent podium finishers together.
