Original edition published at the false address in Venice with 'Pantalon-Phébus' in 1780. It is one of the twenty titles from the first period of the Parisian collection of the Cazin. Rare.

Bound in a luxurious binding signed by Canape-Belz, executed in full midnight blue morocco leather, with a spine decorated with gold tooling featuring the title, place, and date in gilt lettering. Edges are gilt and marbled, with filleted edges, a wide inner lace, and the binder's name stamped on the front cover.

Adorned with an unsigned caricatural frontispiece bearing the mention 'portrait of the author' and nine charming unsigned vignettes. His figures can be attributed to the miniaturist drawer Durand.

Choice copy, uncommon, finely bound, and in excellent condition. Printed on laid paper. Interior fresh and clean, with a few browned leaves in the second part, without severity. Free of foxing.
