MiLo's Pale Cartography - XXL, a 2025 acrylic painting in original edition, an abstract work measuring 110 × 130 cm, hand signed, produced in the Netherlands and sold direct from the artist, shipped rolled in a tube without a frame and with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
A refined minimalist abstract painting by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
Subtle tones form the warm base, crossed by soft-edged black lines that seem to hover between drawing and incision.
Rather than sitting on the surface, the lines feel slightly raised or incised — like traces of a fissure, a patchwork seam, or a subtle structural tension within the painted field.
The work explores MiLo’s ongoing dialogue between control and imperfection — a composition where emptiness and mark coexist,
and where the tactile surface suggests quiet movement beneath the stillness.
The painting can be hung in any direction.
It will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube, without frame, and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

About the artist
MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based artist with a background in photography and art studies.
Over the years he has sold more than 800 original works, now residing in private collections, hotels, restaurants, and offices across Europe, the United States, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
His practice spans from early Pollock-inspired action paintings to precise geometric compositions, and to the layered, scratched surfaces he often explores today.
In his current work, MiLo investigates the tension between construction and erosion, layering and scratching the painted surface until traces emerge. These may recall urban landscapes, geological strata, or cosmic maps — yet the imagery is never fixed. Each canvas evolves through process and chance, allowing multiple interpretations to surface beyond any single theme.
Each work forms part of an ongoing exploration of abstraction, memory, and transformation, making MiLo one of the most prolific and recognizable contemporary artists on Catawiki.
