Description from the seller

Technique: Original woodblock print, published by Unsodo
Artist: Kato Teruhide (1936-2015)
Title: Thousand Torii Gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto
Original Print - Open Edition

Fushimi Inari Taisha is a historic shrine in southern Kyoto.
It is famous for the thousands of vermilion torii gates lining the approach behind the main shrine building.
The approach leads to the forest of Mount Inari, a sacred mountain 233 meters above sea level, and is located within the shrine grounds.

Kato Teruhide studied at Kyoto University of the Arts and was a renowned kimono fashion designer.
At the age of 50, he pursued his true passion and became a traditional Kyoto woodblock artist.
After gallery exhibitions in New York and the publication of his collection "Kyoto Romance," he has established himself as a woodblock artist, just as he did as a kimono designer.

This piece is in like-new condition.
It is in excellent condition, has vibrant colors, and features meticulous detail.
