Original edition. Album recounting the heroic epic of the liberator of Orléans up to her trial and theatrical execution, remarkably illustrated by Octave Guillonnet (1872-1967), in first printing, with 40 color watercolors and chromotypography, mounted on a tab.

Painter and decorator, Octave Guillonnet notably created the decor for the festival hall of the town hall of the 15th arrondissement of Paris, and his works are featured in several museums (Rennes, Rouen, Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris).

Very beautiful specimen preserved in its elegant half-cloth cardboard binding, with the front cover depicting Jeanne d'Arc in armor, in the posture of Christ on the cross, on a background of fleurs-de-lis. The title on the back is in gold lettering.

In good condition. Slightly worn binding, signs of handling, a mark on the front cover, spine ends and corners rubbed. The gilding remains bright. Small tears along the margins of some pages (not serious), free of foxing. Slight play in the hinge. A fine copy.
