Description from the seller
Benrinnes Soldier — Macbeth Act 2 — is an intense and characterful Speyside single malt, distilled in 2012 and bottled after 12 years of maturation in refill sherry butts. It forms part of the ambitious Macbeth series, in which each release represents a character from Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy—here portraying the “Soldier,” one of the ten members of The Household group.
Bottled at 53.5% ABV, it delivers pronounced notes of umami, cured meats, nuts, and earth, creating an almost theatrical tasting experience. This is a whisky with depth and ruggedness, its aromas evoking trampled grass, damp soil, and worn leather straps. There is virtually no smoke, but plenty of body and personality—a dram for those seeking something unforgettable and a little untamed.
The bottle’s artwork, illustrated by Sir Quentin Blake, elevates this release into a collector’s piece both visually and in terms of flavour.
