Description from the seller
Signatory Cameronbridge 1995
Founded in 1824 by John Haig, Cameronbridge Distillery—now part of Diageo—is one of the world’s largest grain whisky producers. Ahead of its time from the very beginning, it was among the first distilleries to be equipped with patent stills designed by Robert Stein (the founder’s cousin) as well as Coffey stills. Cameronbridge was also a founding member of DCL (now Diageo), joining eight other grain distilleries that together held a near-monopoly on grain whisky production in Scotland. It was the first distillery to produce a Scottish single grain whisky, proudly named Cameron Brig.
This single grain whisky hails from Cameronbridge, distilled on 31 January 1995 and bottled in October 2013. It is part of the Single Grain Collection from Scottish independent bottler Signatory Vintage. Founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington, Signatory Vintage initially selected casks for Prestonfield House in Edinburgh. In 2002, Symington acquired the Edradour Distillery in Pitlochry, Highland Scotland, relocating the Signatory Vintage operations and warehouses to the distillery site.
The Observatory 20 Year Old – Signature Series Single Grain Scotch Whisky | 70cl | 40% ABV
The Observatory 20 Year Old is an elegant single grain whisky from the Macduff Distillery, also known for producing Glen Deveron. Its name is inspired by the many lighthouses scattered along Scotland’s coastline, with a lighthouse featured prominently on the packaging.
Matured in a combination of seasoned sherry casks and virgin oak, this whisky offers an exceptionally smooth mouthfeel, with notes of sweet sherry, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The finish is soft and dry, complemented by subtle spicy hints.
