Six-volume French edition of César Vichard de Saint-Réal, Oeuvres de M. l'abbé de Saint-Réal, in-12 bindings from period leather with ornate spine and red morocco title pieces, 170x100 mm, dating from 1730 to 1745 with volume I (1730) and volumes II–VI (1745), including frontispieces and 11 off-text engravings and a good condition overall collection of Saint-Réal's main works.

César Vichard de Saint-Réal (1643-1692). Works of M. l'abbé de Saint-Réal. Amsterdam, Pierre Mortier, 1730-1745, x-422 pp., 498 pp., 450 pp., 371 pp., 456 pp., 470 pp.
6 volumes in-12 (170x100 mm), full calf, ornately tooled spine, title and volume number pieces in red morocco, red edges (bindings from the period). Wear and rubbing on the covers and spine, loss on the lower part of the spine of volume II, some headcaps trimmed, small gallery of worms on 30 pages mainly affecting the margins, yellow marginal stain on several pages of volume V, some corners rounded. Light scattered foxing.
New edition; a frontispiece in each volume and 11 off-text engravings (volume I: portrait of the Duke of Noailles, a portrait of Marius and Sulla, a portrait of Lucullus, and a portrait of Caesarion; volume II: a portrait of Caesarion, a portrait of Tiberius and Caius Gracchus; volume III: portrait of Marius and Sulla, portrait of Lucullus, portraits of illustrious Romans, a portrait of King Charles and his wife Isabel; volume VI: a portrait of the Duchess of Mazarin).
Collection of the main works of Abbé de Saint-Réal, including Remarks on the Memoirs of the Duchess of Mazazin, Considerations on Luculle, Conspiracy of the Gracchi, Conspiracy against Venice, Considerations on Antoine, The Life of Octavius and Augustus, Letters of Cicero.
Only volume I dates from 1730; all the other volumes were published in Paris in 1745.
