Bronze sculpture by Giovanni Varlese with a dark patina depicting Pescatorello from the early 1900s. Statue of the 'Pescatorello,' a bronze work signed by Giovanni Varlese 1888 – 1922 Naples. The artist belongs to the lineage of the famous Neapolitan sculptor school, which between the 1800s and 1900s distinguished itself for great skill and creativity. The reference master for this school, also for Varlese, was Vincenzo Gemito 1852 – 1929. Of humble origins, he became an artist with international fame, renowned for his portrait of Verdi and famous for the sculptures of the Fisherman and Pescatorello, which became a classic of Neapolitan sculpture. In good condition.
This operetta of notable size is ready to enrich any environment; you can place it on a bookshelf, a column, or in an entrance. Thanks to its dimensions, it is not afraid of standing alone, enhancing any space it occupies.
