This sculpture by Art Stray-Nos immediately diverts Banksy's iconic "Flower Thrower": the gesture of the Molotov cocktail or bouquet thrower is here taken up, but transposed into the world of luxury streetwear and consumerism.
Instead of a flower, the character is about to strike with a blue bat, a symbol of urban violence and raw rebellion. His body is covered in a shiny outfit reminiscent of hype store aesthetics, marked by the logos Nike and Off-White, two brands that embody both counterculture and its appropriation by the luxury market.
The plinth adds an ironic touch: a Nike sneaker box sits like a sacred object, transforming the stage into an altar of consumption. The piece plays on violence and desire, subversion and commodification, underground and prestige.
