Dial Design: “The Sound of the Drum” by Uemura Shōen
Uemura Shōen(1875–1949) was a leading female Japanese painter of the modern era. This work depicts a young woman striking a drum. The red of her kimono creates a stark contrast with the blue of her obi sash while also serving to highlight the delicate contours of her white fingertips.
The stamp is carefully affixed to the watch dial.
