Very rare original edition of this collection of Christmas stories published by the writer and goguettier Édouard Plouvier (1820-1876).
Copy enriched with a signed autograph inscription by the author "For my dear little Angèle Peragallo // A keepsake from her old friend Edouard Plouvier".

We are attaching a long handwritten letter signed by the author, addressed to a woman whose name is not mentioned: '... I, too, on Tuesday, madam, will shake your hand, unless I have the pleasure of being able to visit you before then... Because I would very much like to truly get to know the very worthy and excellent Mr. [Chaosho?]...'

Signed Victor Champs binding (1844-1912) in green half-morocco, spine with raised bands, title, author, and year of publication in gold tooling. Gilt top. Cover preserved.

Condition: in very good condition, well-preserved binding, fresh interior, some foxing. Very good overall condition. Untrimmed copy.

Provenance: from the library of André Barrier, President at the Court of Partis (manuscript ex-libris on the first guard); second ex-libris engraved by Vallon (1880) on the first cover board with the initials A. H.
