A big Chinese blue and white porcelain 'Dragons' jar. China, late Qing (清朝) dynasty, early to mid 19th century. Rare example!

The baluster body rising from a foot to a short waisted neck, finely painted in underglaze-blue with two four-clawed dragons chasing the flaming pearl amongst clouds and flames, above waves breaking onto rocks. Each dragon depicted with long horns, bulging eyes and scaly body, its mouth wide opened showing ferocious fangs. The shoulders with four blue lion-mask handles. Neck with four flames.

Daylight pictures included.

Dimensions: Height - 29,3 cm. Diameter - c. 22,5 cm. Weight – 3,03 kg.

Provenance: private collection, Paris, France.

Conditions report: vase preserved in good condition for the age, crack-hairline to the base and chip to the top-rim (fortunately on back). No other damages visible. Some use-related scratches to the glaze. Minor firing faults.. Strong white light tested. Check pictures for details.
