AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Authentic 19th-century antique powder flask (also known as a powder horn), used by hunters or soldiers for storing and transporting gunpowder.
This rare piece originates from the Balkan region, with influences from Greek, Ottoman, and Russian craftsmanship.

The front and back are made of brass or a copper-brass alloy and feature an elaborate repoussé decoration.
At the top, the relief design depicts a Cherub with two dragons below. The sides are richly decorated with a guardian angel at the top and a double-headed eagle at the bottom, symbolizing power and protection.
Both sides are identical in design.

The flask retains its original cap with chain and is designed to stand upright on two small feet.
After testing, all metal is non-magnetic, except for the chain.
The sides are most likely silver-plated as they are non-magnetic and a silver color appears after cleaning, as shown in the picture of the bottom.

Preserved in untouched, original condition, with no repairs or restorations.
Weight: 692 grams.
