Description from the seller

About the work

The Oracle of the Sands of Gold

She rests like a living mirage, born from the warm currents that cross the ancient Eastern routes.
Her red and gold veil seems woven from light, as if each thread had been dipped in a sunset over the dunes.
The hairstyle she wears — these silver pieces, these discreet gems — still whispers the tales of distant caravans, fragrant markets where storytellers awakened the nights.
Her deep gaze, fringed with shadow and warmth, is an open door to the stories it holds.
It is said that she could hear the whisper of vanished oases, that she knew the names of the winds, and that she could read in the grains of sand as others read in the sky.
The white lace she embraces, with an almost unreal delicacy, contrasts with the richness of the fabrics and reveals the immobile purity of her destiny.
In this composition, Gyl celebrates the poetry of the Eastern worlds: a dreamed, reinvented Orient, where beauty becomes a symbol, memory, and prophecy.
She then becomes the Oracle of Sables d’Or, guardian of an Orient that no longer exists, except in the learned light of the brush.
