Sonia J, Portals C2 – Topography of Memory - Synchronicities Collection, an original acrylic painting on stretched cotton canvas 80 × 80 cm (depth 2 cm), signed by hand, produced in 2025 in Portugal, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This 80 × 80 cm abstract painting belongs to a body of work conceived as a map of interior landscapes — places shaped by memory, rupture, intuition, and renewal. Rather than illustrating the past, the work treats memory as synchronicity: signals and alignments that emerge precisely when transformation becomes inevitable.
Layered blocks of colour, traced lines, and dissolving forms create a sense of shifting architecture. What appears structured at first glance gradually opens into fluidity, as if solid frameworks were loosening into movement and light. The composition reflects a personal passage: the release of rigid systems once required by a corporate life, and the embrace of a more intuitive, energy-led creative process.
In this piece, geometry does not impose order; it negotiates with emotion. Forms hover, overlap, and breathe, allowing colour to carry psychological weight rather than decorative intent. The surface holds both tension and openness — a visual threshold between control and freedom.
Executed on stretched cotton canvas, 2 cm depth, the work is sent fully stretched and ready to hang, conceived as a strong yet contemplative presence within a contemporary interior. It functions as a dynamic focal point, bridging modernist lineage with a distinctly contemporary sensibility.
For collectors, this painting offers more than visual impact: it is an invitation into a transitional space — where structure dissolves, intuition leads, and a new artistic language begins to take shape.
Ideal for corporate and institutional spaces.
About Sonia J.
I rewrite the feminine sacred through texture, memory, and courage.
My surfaces are built, carved, scratched, and reimagined — not to preserve purity, but to reveal presence.
Through layered abstractions, vertical gestures, and tactile colour fields, my work explores resilience, emotional archaeology, and the quiet force that shapes a life. My practice emerges from a profound personal transformation: after more than 30 years as a C-level executive in the technology sector, I chose to step away from corporate structures and fully inhabit the language of art.
My work has been exhibited internationally and selected by curators and galleries across Europe. Recent highlights include being named Top 10 Berlin Contemporary Artists (2024–2025), selection for Top Selection Berlin by BBA Gallery and PitturiAmo, participation in international art fairs in Berlin, Barcelona, and Braga, and commissioned projects for luxury hotels and spa environments (Verona, Italy).
Each canvas stands as both an artistic statement and a lived experience — grounded, intentional, and unmistakably alive.
Warm Regards.
