Original design for a Vienna Christmas postcard by Austrian artist Josef Kraenzle (1874–1937), hand-signed in mixed-media grisaille watercolour on cardboard, 50 × 32.5 cm (matted), depicting a winter scene and dating to circa 1900–1910, in good condition.

Original watercolour (grisaille) as design to Vienna Christmas postcard was executed by good listed Austrian artist Josef Kraenzle (1874 - 1937). Kränzle was a famous illustrator in Vienna in the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century, working for different newspapers, magazines and doing designs for postcards.
Inscription: signed J.Kraenzle, lower left and inscribed in German "Vienna".
Technique: matted grisaille (one-colour watercolour) on cardboard.
Measurements: image w 7 1/2" x h 11 3/4" (25 x 19 cm); matted w 19 3/4" x h 12 3/4 " ( 50 x 32 ,5 cm)
Condition: in very good condition.
