On December 1, 2010, Marten Toonder's cultural legacy (all of his own work) was officially transferred by his heirs to the Literary Museum Leiden and has since become the property of the Dutch State. In November 2018, the Marten Toonder Studios archive was donated to the Literature Museum in The Hague and the Eye Film Museum in Amsterdam. See the last photo.

This lot contains a beautiful original drawing created for a Panda story published in Tom Poes Weekblad and Pum Pum. Made in the 1940s. The drawing now offered has been in a private collection for over 35 years, making this a unique opportunity to acquire an original piece by Marten Toonder's Kappie. This stunning drawing is therefore a top piece of museum importance. The drawing is still in excellent condition. It measures 19.5 x 9.5 cm each.
