Description from the seller

Antique Dutch Silver Groom's Pipe, period 1880, Dutch silver hallmark, The Old Little Sword, and a master mark. Length 10 cm. Diameter approximately 1.4 cm.
This collectible antique item is in excellent condition and has a horn mouthpiece.

This typical Dutch pipe was also called a 'breugemanspiepje.' Some have the hallmark of the silversmith (like this one), but most are only certified with a small sword.
The term 'groom' indicates that the man is in his wedding days. He received a little cigar from his fiancée.
There are many different little pipes, and it was said about the pipes with a spirited horse that the groom could look forward to a wild wedding night.
A pipe like this, in the shape of a knot, symbolizes marital fidelity.

Literature: B. Hubee, Breugemanspiepjes, in: Journal for the Collector and Researcher - PKN, 24th Year, no. 96, pp. 1388, 1389.

Magnificent item for the collector.

We carefully package and ship with tracking and insurance.
