Seiko Lord Matic, reference 5606-7000, a 1971 automatic dress watch with a gold-plated stainless steel monocoque case (35 mm), champagne gold dial, steel bracelet, commemorative engraving on the case back, good condition with visible wear.
Description from the seller
The Seiko Lord Matic (LM), reference 5606-7000, is a quintessential dress watch from the 1970s, representing the golden era of Seiko's mechanical mastery. Manufactured in March 1971, this timepiece features a sophisticated gold-plated case with a monocoque (one-piece) construction, marked "Open Thru Glass," which was designed to improve water and dust resistance. The champagne sunburst dial is elegant and timeless, complete with gold-tone baton indices and hands.
A unique feature of this specific piece is the commemorative engraving on the case back, which reads "岩手放送記念" (Iwate Broadcasting Commemoration), adding a layer of historical intrigue and provenance. Powered by the highly regarded Caliber 5606 automatic movement, this watch offers 23 jewels, hacking capabilities, and a day-date function with Kanji and English display—features that placed the LM line just below the Grand Seiko and King Seiko in hierarchy.
This watch is in good vintage condition (Grade AB). It shows signs of honest wear, including surface scratches on the mineral crystal and some fading/rubbing of the gold plating on the case edges and bracelet, consistent with its age. It comes fitted with a vintage gold-tone bracelet that complements the case perfectly. A distinct and collectible piece of Japanese horological history.
Please note: import duties and taxes are the buyer’s responsibility.
The watch will be shipped promptly with tracking and insurance.
