In 1954, Dalí's mustache had miraculously grown. When the painter
Returning to New York, Halsman was surprised; the tips exceeded the eyebrows!
He started photographing the painter's movements and facial expressions, including his moustache...
Dick Simon of Simon & Schuster, upon seeing these images, advised him to continue.
