This is an authentic Raku ware tea bowl (Chawan) made by Shoraku (松楽), a well-known Kyoto-based kiln closely associated with the Japanese tea ceremony.
The bowl features a warm red Raku glaze with subtle black kiln effects, creating a calm yet expressive surface.
A thin layer of whitish natural glaze flows gently around the body, which is a characteristic result of the Raku firing process and adds depth and individuality to this piece.
The form is well-balanced and comfortable in the hand, making it suitable for both tea practice and display.
The bowl comes with its original wooden storage box (Tomobako), inscribed by the kiln, confirming its authenticity and origin.
