Description from the seller

Patinated bronze bust on a marble base.

Elegant bust depicting Frédéric Chopin, a famous Polish composer and pianist of the 19th century, made of dark patina bronze and mounted on a turned base of veined polychrome marble.

The work presents a refined and idealized portrayal of the face, with delicate features, an introspective gaze, and carefully modeled wavy hair, according to Chopin's traditional romantic iconography. The surface of the bronze is well finished, with a uniform and shiny patina that enhances the volumes of the face and bust.

On the front of the pedestal, there is an integrated plaque with the inscription 'CHOPIN' in relief letters.
The marble base, with pink and brown tones, provides stability and a pleasing chromatic contrast to the bronze.

Technical specifications
Materials: patinated bronze and marble.
• Technique: fusion (likely lost wax or high-quality serial casting)
• Period: late 19th – early 20th century
Overall height: approximately 15–16 cm.
• Conditions: good general conditions; normal signs of age and handling, no visible breakage.

Shipments from Switzerland may take longer than expected, and shipping costs may also be applicable for Europe.
